Wine Maker Review: This pure cherry wine is made from
flavorful red pie cherries and juicy dark sweet cherries. Smooth and
sweet, this delicious wine is packed with rich cherry character. The
flavors and aromas linger luxuriously on the palate throughout the long,
languid finish. This wine pairs well with spicy grilled meats and is simply
amazing with chocolate. Try drizzled over pound cake for dessert!
Serve lightly chilled.
My Review: Of all the fruit wines that I tried at the
winery, this was my least favorite. It was also the newest edition to the Orchard Fruit Wines from Chateau Morrisette. It had a nice aroma, with only cherry
coming through. I wasn’t sure whether it was going to be sweet or sour based
solely on the nose. It started off very sweet in my mouth, but on the back end
I got hints of the sour cherry that I smelled. I also didn’t like it because it
had a very long finish, and I did not like the sour cherry flavor remaining in
my mouth. Still, not a bad wine.
I did not taste this wine with food.
