Tasting- Chateau Morrisette Sweet Mountain Apple Wine

Name: Chateau Morrisette Sweet Mountain Apple Wine
Variety: 100% Apple
Country: USA
Region: Southwest Virginia
Year: 2013
Price: $10.00

Wine Maker Review: Our Apple Wine is made from crisp and juicy Virginia apples. Bursting with the vibrant fruitiness of just-picked apples, this wine is sweet and smooth, light bodied, with a clean crisp finish. This wine is perfect with many foods, including pork dishes, game, poultry, barbecue, various cheeses like Cheddar and Gruyere, and assorted nuts. Alcohol 10.5%.
My Review: The apple wine was extremely interesting, as I was expecting something more like a cider. However, this definitely was not like any cider I have ever had. It smelled of a variety of different apples, both sweet and sour. The taste was very crisp and refreshing, with definite hints of both Granny Smith and Red Delicious apple. I liked the mix between sweet and tart, thought there was nothing spectacular about this wine.

I did not taste this wine with food.
