Tasting- Chateau Morrisette Farmhouse Sangria

Name: Chateau Morrisette Farmhouse Sangria
Variety: Merlot, Cherry, Orange
Country: USA
Region: Southwest Virginia
Year: 2013
Price: $10.00

Wine Maker Review: Made from delicious red wine, dark sweet cherries, oranges, and limes, this festive Sangria is bursting with abundant, lively fruit aromas. Sweet and smooth, with a mouth-watering juicy character. This Sangria is perfect for any celebration, and will pair well with spicy and grilled foods. Serve chilled or over ice.
My Review: This sangria was very interesting. On the nose, I definitely smelled the red Merlot that was used as a base. It also had a variety of other flavors due to what it has in it, including orange, lime, and cherry. It had the best nose out of the bunch of the fruit wines. The taste was a little off putting, as I thought that the tannin structure was a little high for this type of wine. I was also put off because I am used to sangria being served as very cold, where this one was served at room temperature. It was very refreshing, but I would most likely not return to this in the future.

I did not taste this wine with food.
