Tasting- El Sierro Macabeo Chardonnay

Name: El Sierro Macabeo Chardonnay
Variety: 95% Macabeo, 5% Chardonnay
Country: Spain
Region: N/A
Year: N/A
Price: $6.95

Wine Shop Review: In the glass, there is a white and shiny white wine with an incredibly welcoming, fresh appetizing aroma reminiscent of ripe tropical fruits. The flavor is rich, balanced and extremely comfortable. The near-perfect all-purpose white wine. As an additional benefit, and good evidence of El Sierro reflect the new Spain, the bottle is sealed with the technical viewed perfect screw cap that at once eliminates any risk of cork flavor and keeps the fruit and the wine fresher for longer time.
My Review: I was extremely impressed with this wine. It had a very nice aroma. I got the delicate honeysuckle nose with some definite tropical fruit scents. When I tasted it I was very surprised to find out that it was extremely smooth. I was expecting more acid based on the taste, but the acid was very crisp and delicate. I also tasted some slight pineapple. Overall, I thought this was a very good wine.

Tasting- First Light Moscato

Name: First Light Moscato
Variety: Muscat
Country: Australia
Region: Barossa
Year: N/A
Price: $7.95

Wine Shop Review: Ripe lychee, tropical fruits and musk on the nose as you near the glass. Lovely grape and stone fruits and on the palate is highlighted with the subtle sweetness and spritz that makes this such a fun drink. Low in the alcohol and nicely balanced acidity ensure that you will want more than one glass of this easy drinking wine.
My Review: I found it somewhat difficult to truly get a fresh aroma because there was still some Cabernet Sauvignon left in my glass. I was still able to pick up on some of the fruity bouquet though. I got some orange, peach, and pineapple. This sparkling Moscato was very nice tasting without too much sweetness that they normally bring. I could definitely drink more than one glass of this at a time. This wine definitely tasted lie it had a low alcohol level, but I would still drink this again in the future.

Tasting- CalNaturale Cabernet Sauvignon Pasa Robles

Name: CalNaturale Cabernet Sauvignon Pasa Robles
Variety: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 5% Viognier
Country: USA
Region: California, Paso Robles
Year: 2009
Price: $10.95

Wine Shop Review: 95% Cabernet Sauvignon with 5% Viognier this certified organic winery produces outstanding quality at reasonable prices offering classic Cabernet flavors of fresh herb, olive, cedar, and cassis. Focused and intense, with a charming rustic side and broad tannins that firm up on the finish.
My Review: It definitely makes sense that this is an al organic wine. When smelling it, I felt like I was out on a farm. I got strong grassy and earthy flavors. It reminded me of going outside and digging in the dirt. The flavor really surprised me because I got very strong wood flavor. Not necessarily oak, but cedar. There were definitely nice herb flavors as well. The tannin level wasn’t too strong, but a little too much for my liking.

Tasting- Georges Duboeuf Beajolais Nouveau

Name: Georges Duboeuf Beajolais Nouveau
Variety: Gamay
Country: France
Region: Beajolais
Year: 2013
Price: $7.95

Wine Expert Review: An aromatic red, with floral and white peach n
otes accenting the black raspberry and plum flavors. This is open-knit and fresh, offering light tannins on the finish.
My Review: This is by far the fruitiest red wine that I have ever had. As soon as I did the sniff and swirl, I got strong fruit aromas. Blackberry, strawberry, and plum definitely came through. This wine did come from younger grapes so that may be part of the reason. The tannin levels in this wine were very low, which was very refreshing to me as I think they can sometimes be overwhelming. I also got all of the fruit flavors that I smelled in the wine. This has been my favorite red to date.

Tasting- Beltrame Friulano

Name: Beltrame Friulano
Variety: 100% Tocai Friulano
Country: Italy
Region: Friuli
Year: 2009
Price: $9.95

Wine Shop Review: 100% Tocai Friulano Straw-coloured yellow with a pale green tint express an intense, delicately aromatic and floral bouquet. The flavour is dry, soft, slightly fruity, with slightly bitter nuance in its almond aftertaste, and suggestion of peach.
My Review: This wine had an extremely nice golden color to it. I also really enjoyed it because as it was being poured, I could already smell it. It had great flower smells as well as some nice orange. When I tasted it, however, I got almost no fruity flavors other than a slight hint of peaches. It was more on the bitter side, but I thought it was very well balanced. It did have a slightly odd aftertaste that was somewhat nutty. This wine was very intriguing.

Tasting- Mas LLunes Maragda

Name: Mas LLunes Maragda
Variety: Grenache Blanc
Country: Spain
Region: Emporada
Year: 2010
Price: $9.95

Wine Shop Review: This Grenache Blanc is exquisitely sculpted with sharp acids and pinpointed minerals, and offers orange, melon and vanilla-honey flavors. A delight to drink, at a great price.
My Review: I was slightly disappointed with the nose of this wine, because it seemed pretty closed when I was trying to get the aromas. I got a slightly mineral smell, with some flower bouquet. It also smelled like it was going to be highly alcoholic. When I tasted it I was surprised to find the highly acidic component to the wine. When swallowing, however, I thought that the wine was extremely smooth. It had very light and delicate flavors on the palate, which I definitely enjoyed.
