Tasting- Nine Walks Sauvignon Blanc

Name: Nine Walks Sauvignon Blanc
Variety: 100% Sauvignon Blanc
Country: New Zealand
Region: Marlborough
Year: 2011
Price: $8.99

Wine Maker Review: Nine Walks captures the essence of Marlborough's magic with fruit sourced from our estate-owned vineyards in the Wairau Valley and Awatere Valley sub-regions of NZ.  The fruit from the Wairau Valley delivers the more tropical and herbaceous elements, while the fruit from the Awatere Valley provides a more mineral-infused and restrained streak that gives Nine Walks its distinct texture and palate weight.
My Review: This Sauvignon Blanc is exactly what I expected my first from New Zealand to be. It definitely had the strong mineral flavors with a slight ammonia smell. I liked the earthy aromas as well. When I tasted it some of the same flavors came through, though there was a nice fruity element as well. I would definitely try this wine again.

I did not taste this wine with food.
