Tasting- Toschi Cabernet Sauvignon

Name: Toschi Cabernet Sauvignon
Variety: Cabernet Sauvignon
Country: USA
Region: Madera California
Year: 2011
Price: $8.95

Wine Shop Review: Well-balanced flavors of dark berries and plums. Spicy fruit finish adds an extra dimension to this wine.
My Review: This Cabernet Sauvignon was very interesting. It had an extremely interesting and spicy smell to it. It smelled exactly like a drink that I have had that is constantly consumed in the Dominican Republic: Mama Juana. This is a mixture of dark rum, red wine, and tree bark and local spices. When I tasted it I definitely got the plum flavor which transitioned to a peppery spice. The finished contained strong notes of wood and earth. This was not a bad wine, but I found it to be slightly too spicy for my taste.

I did not taste this wine with food.
